Riddle of Desire

1 post in this topic

What I desire cannot be voiced

It lies in hush-less whispers

That rampage in jest and yet

Merciless divine cutting deep beneath

The surface of that steely flesh

Somehow so fragile, so sublime

I am papered butterfly wings

Gently kissing each other’s lips

We pass, they pass, anxious

In a cloud of uncertain snagging

Before bursting into joyous release

And then we disperse

Once given form it must shatter

Once spoken it is lost forever

What do I desire?
