Game Soundtracks

8 posts in this topic

Alright, what's your favorite game OST? Or maybe you have a particular song or two that you like from various games?

I don't really have an entire soundtrack from one game that I like but I am still pretty fond of Simple and Clean/Hikari from Kingdom Hearts (original and remix versions), Hymn of the Fayth from FFX, and honestly I am digging some of the Inquisition music. The main theme is kind of catchy, found myself humming it the other day mid-play when there wasn't any music and I was like what is this song until it came on lol. I also stumbled across some music from the Trespasser DLC that I am liking. Of course between what I've already learned about the happenings in that (swear I wasn't trying to find out what was going on, just needed to look something up for earlier in the game) and now this music, I know the ending is going to gut punch me right in the feels. I'm hoping that when I get to the end of the game and the end of Trespasser I am home alone because I don't want the man to see me crying over a game and I'm pretty sure I will be, especially considering who I chose to romance. I would never hear the end of it >>; Note to self: if I play Inquisition again, romance someone else, anyone else! ._____.

Really think that's about it right now, since I don't have a huge collection of games. I've not played enough of Witcher 3 to decide if I enjoy the music or not. Any recommendations?

How could I forget One Winged Angel and Those Who Fight Further?! And Red XIII's theme? Shame on me. Black Mages versions of course XD

I agree, Mog. Some of that music in X was like T-T

I'll have to check that out when I have a chance, Draken :)

I like One Winged Angel!

I should add the soundtracks of Okami, Destiny, and God of War series to my list. I enjoy scores that range from beautiful harmony to intense action.

Halo Wars: Insignificantia <-it was the credits theme.

Crisis 3: New York Memories specifically https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF4GS6BJNpk

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Uncontrollable https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ffMspQdbRA

In very few game did i like all the music mostly older games like Chopper Attack 64, Blast Corps, FF7, Monster Hunter series, Rune factory series.

Rune factory example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbDBArgu1_Q&t=85s

Monster hunter Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aP7Uku9mUto

Both are handheld so the quality isn't necessarily as good as console based... sadly the rune factory series its very likely dead as the company that made the game closed down shortly after releasing RF4

@DrakensonofDrakonis Yeah Okami had an amazing soundtrack its been a long time since i have played it but that was one of the best games released on console inovative, great artwork and a great soundtrack.

@Rhannan Red XIII"s theme was pretty awesome though i have to say his soundtrack didn't live up to his character << Red was too awesome to be described even by music XD Red and Cid where my two favorite characters in that game. My favorite track from the game is probably Highwind Takes to the Skies but all the music in FF7 was great ^^

Highwinds theme for ref: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dnl6NoEVdo

@Draken My favorites were probably Red and Vincent. My standard team was Cloud, Red, and Vincent, and then I found out towards the end that you fight with everyone in the final battle and there was literally a 30 level gap between those three and everyone else. I was like oh damn my bad XD Watching Cid run around when he was the party lead though....he looked so stupid it was funny ><

@Rhannan Cid had Highwind XD he may be silly but he knows how to travel. i just leveled the whole party enough to do the split party missions then when i had access to high lv mobs i would just take them out with one of my max lv chars and just one shot the mobs with magic till they all caught up... it was slowish but was way faster then trying to lv them all up on mobs of their lv.
