Desolate Romance, an Ode to Wintertide

4 posts in this topic

This is something I wrote a few years back as an ode to Winter:

Naked you stand before me,

Solemn and beautiful,

Your touch is sharp and yet comforting.

Under your dark and somber skies I find succor,

And in your frigid winds I find warmth.

Your pale melancholy beckons me;

Your frozen embrace seduces me.

Mournful and yet soothing,

O' funereal Winter,

My deathly queen;

Long have I yearned for your return.

Now I take your pale hand,

My tenebrous and sacred love.

Let us dance for one more year.
